Wet, Wild, and Wormy

Today was rainy and thundery, so the kids spent the day indoors, alternately playing together and tormenting each other. Ed still isn’t feeling well and spent most of the day in bed. At one point in the afternoon, we caught K. randomly hitting numbers on the phone (she thought she was calling Hana), and I told her she’d better not do that again – didn’t she remember what happened to Curious George when he accidentally called the Fire Department? Unfortunately, a minute later, a police car started driving slowly back and forth on the street behind our house. I think he drove past four times, maybe doing a little house shopping? K. and T., however, became convinced that K. had called the Police Department, and that the police were looking for them to take them off to jail. K. was quite upset and clingy for a couple hours, despite my telling her that the police are her friends, and don’t take even naughty four year olds to jail.

By the time we were done with dinner, the weather had cleared, and the kids and I went outside to check out the puddles. T. was hoping for tadpoles, but the weather has been too dry, and there wasn’t even enough water to fill our little ditch. There were some nice mud puddles, though, and the kids got good and muddy. T. took of his flip flops while splashing, and, to encourage him to put them back on, I told him that he might get hookworms if he ran around barefoot. Next thing, he got a tiny cut on his hand, and started worrying that it might be from a hookworm. I told him that it wasn’t likely, but, after his bath, he spent some time on the internet, anxiously researching. Does that count as science?

I recently read that Curious George book to Cherry!

Another thing: A while ago I took my Super Nintendo to work at the hardware store to play during my lunch hour. I actually kind of aquired the system a few years ago, but hadn't really played it much, but you can tell T. That I'm totally hooked on the Legend of Zelda. He probably hasn't played the particular one I have, because it's so old school, but tell him anyhow! Oh, and he visited my blog once, which I'm not sure if you knew, and whereas I don't mind him reading it supervised, there are sometimes things in there that I don't know if you'd want him reading. FYI. No big deal :P

Cece -- I'll tell T. that you are a Zelda fan! He will be pleased.
I actually showed him your blog, when you had that cute little kitty in the sidebar, but I didn't know he'd been a repeat visitor. Thanks for the heads up, and I'll remind him to check with me before he goes zooming around the internet!

Hannah -- If you think they Sound scary, you should see what they Look like! (or not!)

CherryPie -- He's a chivalrous little dickens, isn't he? She didn't mind, though.

Cece -- Travis says he has never played that one, but it is the one he thought you had (I don't know how he knows these things).
