It was so beautiful this morning that I decided to vote before starting school just to have an excuse for a little walk. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling to see our democracy (or as close to democracy as we get) in action. The couple voting in front of me were wobbly on reading/speaking English, and the volunteers were kindly doing their best to make sure that they understood how the ballot was set up. The warmth and friendliness of the volunteers working to ensure that everyone in our community has a voice in our government is so heartening after all the divisiveness of the campaign.
