My Plans Went Awry, But We Had Fun

Well, my good intentions for diligently doing lots of work today went awry. The day started off well enough, with a condo inspection, but the homeowner at my second job was getting ready to have a friend drive her to the hospital (broken foot) when I arrived. We decided that it would be best to reschedule (since she also had a mostly finished kitchen that she thinks will be done next week), so I went home. T. wanted to show me how to play "Yankee Doodle" on the piano, so I fooled around with him until Ed took him over to a friend's house for a play date at 1:30. I had planned to do a report while they were gone, but K. decided at the last minute to stay home with me (I was loading the kids in the car for Ed, and told her to get in her car seat or she would have to stay home with me, and she decided that that would suit her fine -- last time I use that threat!). K. watched a video for a while, and I was working, but then a conversation with a mortgage broker made me so angry that I couldn't concentrate, so I decided to play hooky for the rest of the afternoon, and K. and I went in the backyard and played. It was a good afternoon.

Just dropped by to say "hi", Melora. I have conversations with mortgage brokers which make my blood boil most days. I try to remember that it must be really awful having no friends.

I love Carl Hiassen. But I have no idea what s'mores are. If you gave me the recipe, I'd have to make them in the interests of international relations only, of course.

Boxers, I think, but I didn't check! It's supposed to be tunic sort of thing (like Robin Hood, only it is Link, a character from a video game). That red polo shirt Is a little short to make a belted tunic.

Yeah, I knew it was Link as soon as I saw it!

S'mores are a camp-out treat consisting of a graham cracker broken into halves, with a good-sized piece of chocolate bar on one half, and a puffed-up, toasty marshmallow sandwiched between them. You have to sort of squish it together, and marshmallow and melty chocolate ooze out. Messy, but very tasty.
