Our stockings are hung by the chimney with care, the presents are wrapped, and dinner is in the oven. The house didn't get the cleaning I was planning, but I'm pretty sure Christmas will come anyway. Ed woke up this morning feeling unwell and extremely out of sorts. I had hoped to go to the morning service and to the Christmas Eve service at 6:30 (and the party afterwards), but, the way he was feeling, I think I was lucky we got to one service today. Why he couldn't have had the good sense to be sick before Christmas, when the rest of us were doing it, is beyond me. T. stood up during the announcements part of the service and told everyone that tomorrow would be Christmas, which was a much appreciated reminder I'm sure.

Happy Christmas Eve!
After lunch, T. and K. went caroling over at the neighbors' and then gave them cookies. The neighbors were very sweet, even after the children went beyond the repertoire of the songs they actually know and started improvising a little.
T. has been tracking Santa on the NORAD Santa tracker since we got home from church and says he will soon be heading this way, and K. is ready for me to make up a plate of cookies and carrots, so it is time for me to do something productive, like putting a meal on the table and starting to wind up this very fine day.
