Our Little Handy Girl

My plan to start getting to bed at a more civilized hour had to be postponed last night after I walked into the living room and found Ed watching President Ford's funeral. It wasn't anything that I had planned on watching, but the service was really very nice, and they sang some of my favorite hymns -- "Oh God Our Help in Ages Past" and "For All the Saints." That National Cathedral is a gorgeous building, with lots of stained glass windows and carved wood. I kept thinking that that is a building it would be well worth a forty minute drive to worship in, and they do a beautiful service!

K. helped us putting up a little drywall in the back room today. She is keen to hammer things, which isn't so bad as long as we keep her away from the furniture. (And no, we are not really letting her hammer chunks of 2x4s at random intervals around the floor. If she starts getting the nails through the boards, we will give her thicker boards.)
