We had a great time at our new homeschool group's Valentine's Day
party today! We brought sandwiches and cupcakes, the kids each decorated a box for the other kids to drop their valentines in, and we made cards for each of the children in the group. I was pleased to see that Valentine's parties have improved since the parties that I remember as a child, when they seemed to be primarily an occasion for the most popular children to be able to quantify how very much more popular they were than everyone else. For this party, we were provided a list of all the children who would be attending, so every child got a card from every other child. There was lots of food and plenty of games, and both T. and K., in their own different ways, had fun playing with the other children.
but I found her in the Ladies Room, enjoying some quiet moments with her candy.

Oh that sounds like fun! I wish we had a homsechool group around here to do stuff like that with. Hmm... maybe that's my next project.
(not really) ;)
I'm really grateful to have found this group! It is purely a social group, which really works best for me. The other hs group we joined meets monthly and has "projects" that the kids are supposed to prepare for the meetings, and the projects are just more than I really want to add to our schedule. Maybe in the spring you will have the time to start a group (though you might want to just take a break and catch your breath!).
