We've had a week or so of nice, warm weather, even warm enough to need the upstairs a/c on at night. Yesterday, though, was cooler and cloudy, and today has been drizzly and cold (low 50's, which is cold to me, anyway). I don't know if the crazy weather has anything to do with it, but, from a schooling point of view, this has been a week that I'm pleased to see the end of. T. and I have been trying hard since Tuesday to improve our behaviour, he to put forth more (some?) effort, and me to be patient and kind, but it has been really tough. K. is inspired by chocolate chips, but T. is a more complex beast (and more is expected of a third grader than a preschooler). Any ideas for helping an eight year old boy with the attention span of a gnat to focus would be deeply appreciated!
The kids have gone out to play and burn off some pent up energy, regardless of the cold and damp, but Harry is sensibly appreciative of the warmth and dryness inside the house. He has been curled up sleeping under my desk all afternoon. I think his back leg may be beginning to heal, as he touched it to the ground a couple times when he was exploring the back room earlier today. He is also fattening up nicely, and looks better since his second bath. Bo enjoys sniffing him (to Harry's considerable annoyance,
though he refrains from scratching or hissing), and steals Harry's food every time he gets the chance.
Ed is complaining of starvation, so I guess I should think about dinner (sigh).
