Because It Isn't ALL Killer Weeds & Mystery Bugs

It rained last night, finally! The grass in the front yard was gasping its last, and now it looks much happier. A couple of my new roses bloomed today. Flutterbye and Carefree Sunshine look like particularly nice yellow roses, and Jacob's Ladder, the climbing rose I bought at Lowes, has several blooms and quite a few buds.

Our little Eastern Phoebe family appears to be thriving. The babies are getting nice and big. Ed commented yesterday that they will be needing a bigger nest soon. I must remember to tell him that birds don't do this.

The picture of the front of our house is to show how much nicer it looks now that we have removed the black plastic shutters which used to frame the front door. We also replaced the old, beat-up lamps with the new ones that I got on clearance ($6!!) from Lowes. It will look even better once I get the shutters painted.

You might think this is a picture of K. playing "mother cat carrying her kitten." Nope. This is "mother werewolf carrying her cub." I have no idea where she got this.

Finally, we have Harry playing "Lunatic cat who hides under the dining room table and pounces out at the feet of unsuspecting passers by."

Oh my goodness! I love, love, love that orange rose!! It is so pretty!

Mother Werewolf!! Too funny! We must get your K and my Walker together sometime! Looks like she has quite the imagination too :) Isn't it fun to see what they come up with?

The house looks great, by the way!

Thank you! It is Joseph's Coat, and it was an impulse purchase at Lowes because I thought it was so pretty too!

I hope you will let me know if you are ever in our part of NC (near Mount Airy) so I can give you directions & we could get together. It would be fun!
