What have we done since Saturday? Not a whole lot, but it has kept us busy!
Easter was lovely. The kids had a great time finding eggs, both at home and at church. The service was very nice, and our special turkey dinner (Ed doesn't eat ham) was excellent. And I made a chocolate-marmalade cake for dessert and, with Lent being over, got to eat some. I love chocolate.
On Monday night, we had five of the moms from Travis's hs book group over to plan out the books we will read for the next few months. Several of the ladies brought wine, and we supplied beer and nachos, and we had a very nice time selecting books. Despite a suggestion from Travis that we read a Star Wars book, and another from one of the little girls for Nancy Drew, I think we picked some pretty good stuff. The kids and I have already read seven out of the twenty books we picked, but that is okay. Our reading list through next December is as follows:
Sign of the Beaver
Caddie Woodlawn
Sarah Plain and Tall
Moccasin Trail
The Secret Garden
The Phantom Tollbooth
The Swiss Family Robinson
Onion John
The Declaration of Independence
From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler
Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates
Five Children and It
Danny, the Champion of the World
A Little Princess
Johnny Tremain
The Indian in the Cupboard
The Arabian Nights
Misty of Chincoteague
The Witch of Blackbird Pond
The Cricket in Times Square
Best Christmas Story
I think that should keep us busy until next Christmas.

We've read almost all of these and there isn't a bad one in the lot! Have fun.
We just finished Caddie Woodlawn and loved it. The Sign of the Beaver is another favorite around here. The Easter Bunny brought Joshua the movie.
I am so jealous that you have a hs group that will get together and drink wine, eat nachos and discuss books! That sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon! Unfortunately, there is nothing like that around here. All the homeschoolers in this town keep to themselves. :(
