Saturday we spent several hours at a horsey sort of event at the Tractor Supply Store. There were booths with horsey art, saddles, horse shaped perfumed soap (for washing off the horsey smells), and food to satisfy the hunger of people who have been messing with horses. Travis pretty much ignored the horse stuff and spent his time winning bottles of hand sanitizer and packets of Nerds at the "Spin the Wheel and Answer a Health Related Question" booth. Oh, and also admiring machetes, knives, and guns displayed in a booth and in the Tractor Supply store. We met friends there, so he had buddies to wander with. Katie admired horses and ate. She took several rides in the pony cart, and we talked with a woman who lives less than a mile away from us about riding lessons. After living here for two years, practically surrounded by horses, I think we've finally found a place for Katie to ride!
I told Ed that if he wanted to surprise me with a horse (you know, to live in the back yard and play with Bo), he could get me this one. Isn't she pretty? She is four and, I'm guessing, around 15.2 hands. Sadly, someone else bought her first. (Actually, she wouldn't have been in our price range anyway. Not even close. Even if we had a price range for a horse. Which we don't.)

Looks like a fun day! Samantha would have been in seventh heaven with all the horses.
Oh, fun! I've brought up the subject of riding lessons with the boys, and of eventually putting a horse or two down in the barn. James says he'd love to have one... IF we don't make him ride it. :-S Wha--?? *sigh* I'm hoping, though. Eventually. Maybe. In the meantime, you'll have to post photos of sweet Katie as she learns to ride!
Our feed store has a display case of pocketknives. John loiters there every time we go. I'm pretty sure he's drooled on their glass, too. He already has three of his own, so I told him he'd have to save his money and buy the next one on his own. Now he's got a running tally and keeps pestering Zorak to take him there for The Big Purchase. lol.
Kids are a riot, aren't they?

Good Job! :)
