A Fine Rainy Day

It was cold and rainy all day today. The sort of day that makes a person say, "Boy, am I glad that I drove all the way out to the Super Walmart yesterday to do my grocery shopping!" It was a very good day for doing a little school, a little laundry, some baking, and lots of puttering. My only complaint is that, if we are going to have cold weather with precipitation, I think it would be nice if the precipitation could be of the snowy variety. As it is, the water level is rising in the basement in a way which makes doing laundry into rather an expedition.
On the plus side, we got two movies from Netflix today -- "Holes," and a replacement copy of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (the first copy came broken, and Ed was able to see just enough of the movie to know that it has old cars). We finished reading Holes last night, and T. was terrifically excited about seeing the movie. Having watched it, he reports that, "It was one of the best movies ever!" (It was good, but you need to take his reviews with a grain of salt, since he is fairly generous with the "one of the best" rating.)

No, no, the boys agree - great flick! They. Loved. It.

Zorak and I laughed a lot, but not at the same parts.

Glad you had such a pleasant day. (How is the flooring issue coming along? And are you still enjoying your sink?)

Ed and I enjoyed the movie too. It didn't make my Top Ten Ever list, but it was good (not as good as the book, though).

The floor has come to a bit of a standstill. The bathroom floor is mostly finished, except for some grout (Ed says) around the edges and the removal of a little more glue. We returned the tiles we were going to use in the kitchen & back room, and now we are debating what should go there. Ed wants to have someone come in and put down vinyl. I think having someone come in will cost more, and am leaning toward those stick on squares of vinyl (I picked one that has a 25 yr residential & 5 yr commercial warranty -- that has to be sturdy, don't you think?). We've spent too much lately, though, so waiting and considering fits in well with the finances at this point anyway!

We loved Holes, too. :) We saw it before we read the book, and we love them both.

Have y'all seen Second Hand Lions? It's another really good flick.

KathyJo,
We saw Secondhand Lions recently, and really enjoyed it! It was another that made T.'s Best Ever list, and was certainly one of the best that I've seen lately, too.

Oh, yes, Second Hand Lions is another favorite. I just loved that one, too. (I knew I loved y'all for more than your awesome culinary and photographic skills!) ;-)

"Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble..." Yes, it seems that we do share excellent taste in family movies! Now I know who to go to when I need movie recommendations.
