My bluebird came back today! I was telling Ed this morning that I hadn't seen him since that one thrilling sighting, and I glanced at the birdbath and there he was! Of course, the water was frozen solid, so he didn't stay long. I dashed out and, failing to dislodge the ice, dumped my pitcher of water on top of it. Minutes later, there he was again! He's been back twice now, always to the birdbath, so I think I will make putting water in the birdbath my "first thing in the morning" thing. What fun!
(*The bird pictured is not my bird, since he is very shy, but it looks pretty much like him.)
I've been thinking that I might change my profile picture, since Ed cut my hair a few months back (and we are in a different house and all). T. kindly volunteered to provide a picture of me. I think it was very nice of him to draw me as serene, smiling mommy sitting on a hillside, rather than cranky, dictatorial mommy surrounded by boxes and clutter. I think it may be a case of the artist flattering his subject so his work will be accepted more than anything else, though.
