Spring is here my foot. I should have known better. The bird bath was frozen again this morning.
T. almost bonked the woman walking in front of him with the big cross he was carrying in church this morning. It wasn't deliberate, but he's too much like me, and I can hardly walk and chew gum at the same time (so I don't chew gum). I wish they'd give him something smaller to carry. During the announcements, the priest recommended a book that is going to be read for a discussion group, and I thought I'd read it even though I won't be joining the discussion group. I bought a copy (they had a stack for sale on a table) after the service, and browsed through it while I drank my coffee and ate my sandwiches (there was a very fine spread today). The book, The Heart of Christianity, by Marcus Borg, was an surprising (to me) choice, particularly during Lent, since part of the author's premise seems to be that Jesus wasn't really the Son of God. I unbought the book, but I did see, while browsing at Amazon later at home, a book called The Meaning of Jesus: Two Visions, by Marcus Borg and N.T. Wright, that looks interesting. I like N.T. Wright.
I had thought I might get started with my kitchen backsplash today, but we had to stop by Food Lion on the way home for toilet paper and ice cream, and by the time we got home the afternoon was well along. Ed wanted to put up a piece of trim before I started tiling, so K. and I went outside and did some yard work. I gathered and carried at least ten big paint bucketfuls of magnolia cones from the front yard to my stick pile in the back yard. I'm looking forward to the flowers on those magnolias, but I'm glad we only have two.

I *think* you and I might have a connection. My BIL & SIL were down this weekend and mentioned that they are attending an episcopal church in Sparta (they run the moravian camp & conference center - but the closests moravian church is a drive almost back to W/S for them.)
Their names are Mike & DeAnne.
I found it interestingly cool.

The names sound familiar, but I can't connect them with faces. If they go to an Episcopal church in Sparta, I'm pretty sure there is only one option -- Christ Episcopal Church. I will look for them!
We're having our typical March should mean Schizophrenic in Some Language weather here. 70's, then 24 hours later we're driving home in a blinding snowstorm. I'm ready for it to be all done!
Our Food Lion has BOGO ice cream this week, so we'll be stopping by tonight :) (I have no relatives at your church, the ice cream is the only connection I could make, aside from the back and forth weather. ;))
We have no connection. Probably not even if we go out a full TEN degrees. But we adore you. Does that count? Do I get to play? And eat Andie's ice cream? Please?
