Lessons

The kids enjoyed their Artistic Pursuits lesson today. They learned about Roman portraits carved from stone or marble which showed heads and faces and which were framed as if the subjects were looking out a window. The kids didn't bother with frames, so their portraits don't look exactly as if they are looking our a window, but they had a good time making them!

I finally gave in and started Katie on cursive today. She has been insisting on writing her name and the date on her papers in her best effort at cursive, and today she wanted to write her Pompeii narration in cursive. I had wanted to wait to start anymore subjects with the kids until we were getting through our current lessons a little more efficiently, but having Katie asking how to form letter after letter hasn't been exactly efficient either.
