Happy Birthday Bill!

We went to Ed’s parent’s house this evening to bring a present and cake to his dad on his 77th birthday. The newspaper had a review this morning of a book called The One Percent Doctrine, about the Bush administration and its war on terror, which I thought Ed’s dad would enjoy (he likes political intrigue type stuff). I browsed through it on the way to their house, and it looked quite interesting (like I need anything else added to my “to read” stack!). We had a nice visit, and Ed stuffed himself on cake (the man loses all self control when it comes to sweets), so when we got home (after 8:00), the kids and I had a snack and called it dinner.

It stormed all day, but cleared up beautifully this evening, so I am hoping for a thunder free night. Poor Bo has woken us up in the middle of the night for the last two nights, with terrors from thunder that we can’t even hear. His wrap and drops do settle him down (actually, Friday night Ed had to supplement the drops with a Valium), but it still disrupts my much treasured sleep!

What a fab cake. Did you bake it? He's very lucky to have such a clever, talented, thoughtful, multi-tasking daughter-in-law x

Oh my, Cherrypie, I sure wish I had made that cake! It was pretty. To be honest, though, we bought it (do you suppose that we can call buying a cake, in order to have time to finish work, could be called multi-tasking?).

What a delightful way to spend the evening.

Poor Bo - he's up to Valium already! {{hugs}} for the poor pup. I hope you have some calm weather soon, for his sake.
