Snow! (of sorts)

It sort of snowed today! I'm not sure what the technical term is for cute little flakes of stuff that melt before they settle on anything, but that's what we had. I was doing something useful in the kitchen when Ed called down that I'd better bring Bo in because it was raining, and when I opened the door, I noticed that the "rain" was white, and was falling in a rather float-y sort of way. I called for T., who came out, took one look at the stuff, and started screaming for K. to come see the snow. She rushed down, and in moments they were both outside in their stocking feet and t-shirts, and Ed was having six kinds of conniption fits about how they needed to have boots and snowpants on or they would catch their deaths. By the time I had collected the jackets, shoes, etc., and had put dry socks and shoes on K., the snow had disappeared and the kids immediately went back to their indoor activities. It is still cold, though, and I was glad when the oil man showed up to top of our tank today.
Regarding school, I will say only that my theory about accumulated attentiveness proved to be incorrect.

Around here, we call that "slurries".

Thanks Cece! What a great word!

Dhugs --Perish the thought! We spent five hours yesterday doing the same two pages of math that he had done the day before. And it was a Review of material that he had No Trouble With At All. Alien brain abduction is the only possible answer. We are going to move forward to the next section today anyway.

Oh, yes. Aliens. You should have seen the look on John's face when, after the tears, and the explanations, and the soul-wrenching claim that "it's too haarrrdddd", I quietly opened his book to the next page and assigned that to be done now. He cut his time in half, which is better, but still wasn't acceptable. So he did the same work Wed. Did much better, and was, um, relieved? to find he gets to move on to something less repetitive today. He, he, those pesky aliens.

I love snow flurries! James is pushing for us to sell this place and move to Idaho. He wants snow. Obviously, he wants a LOT of snow. LOL.

Poor John. T. would completely sympathize with him. It is so sad when your hard hearted mother refuses to believe that you have forgotten everything about math that you ever knew. Sniff.

Idaho would be quite a change from Alabama, and after all the work you've done on your home, too. Wouldn't he just settle for a nice ski vacation? (I've never taken one, but I'm sure it would be cheaper than moving!)
