Happy Thanksgiving!

Travis and Katie are having a wonderful time with their cousins!

Jeremy and Aviva trounced my parents and Ed and me at Pictionary. What's worse, they did it while twined around each other and smooching. Crazy kids.

Hiking with a big crowd is a whole different thing. Travis and Katie didn't lag or whine, but they and their cousins dashed ahead and off into the woods, which was rather exhausting (for me). Bob and Melanie, friends of the family who drove over from Tennessee to visit for the day, helped wrangle kids.

Lovebirds on the trail.
Katie and her Paba watched the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Paba was appalled by the decadent, consumer society he saw reflected in the parade. Katie was delighted by the Pillsbury Dough Man and Dora the Explorer balloons.
Dinner was delicious and peaceful. There was plenty of everything. I forgot to take a picture of the dessert table, but there were four kinds of pie, cookies brownies, and special chocolates in the shape of the first letter of each child's name.
Rachel got hugged a lot.

Mmmm. I love the beautiful fall foliage you still have where you are. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I'm with Paba on the parade.

When did the kids get the extra letters in their names?!

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

Thank you! I was so pleased that the leaves hung on long enough for my family to see them.

We wouldn't have turned on the parade except that Ed feels it is an important holiday tradition.
I think it was this post or at least very recently that I gave the kids all their letters. I decided that my clever ruse of foiling internet predators by only using initials was pretty silly, and I think the posts read more smoothly with names.

Melora & Ed:

It was so wonderful to see the children together again, playing, laughing, thinking, growing, learning, and . . . loving. Thanks for having us over for the day.
